Exchange Place, Jersey City

We were tasked with implementing a wayfinding and signage program for Exchange Place, a neighborhood in Jersey City. The system needed to support the district brand, enhance the neighborhood’s identity, and improve navigation for residents and visitors.
We developed a map to support navigation on the site, regulatory signage and public art identification signage to support the district brand, and an interpretive signage program to draw attention to the history and culture of the neighborhood.
A segment of the 18.5 mile Hudson River Waterfront Walkway lies in Exchange Place. We implemented interpretive signage along the walkway to activate the waterfront and capitalize on Exchange Place’s picturesque views of the NYC skyline.
